Though Blizzard isn’t ready to officially announce the title as launching on the Xbox One, confirmations were made that work is being done to bring the “Ultimate Evil Edition” of Diablo III to the console.

During an interview with VideoGamer.com, Diablo III lead producer dropped some details about the Ultimate Evil Edition announced for PlayStation 4 on the Xbox platform.

“I don’t know where we are with Microsoft right now so I can’t really comment on what that contract looks like. The point is we are developing for Xbox [One] and PS4 simultaneously. We hit those major platforms and then our goal as a development team is to make them run.”

Set to develop for both high-powered consoles simultaneously, Mayberry said “it makes more sense” to work with both, as the architecture of the consoles is said to be very similar.

“We have that pipeline worked out. We’ve already done it with the 360 and PS3, so that team knows how to develop at the same time for both of those platforms. That’s just what we do. And then Blizzard and Microsoft can work out whatever they work out.”

The Ultimate Evil Edition of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls isn’t far off from the PC release, due out at midnight, according to Mr. Mayberry. “[The console team] work in parallel development with us so they’re not far behind.”
