In a sweeping run of new announcements, Mortal Kombat X will feature three more characters at launch than we knew of previously, with every DLC piece in the game available as a “Kombat Pack” season pass.

Jason only comes out on Friday the 13th, and in direct relation NetherRealm Studios saved the announcement of Jason Voorhees for just such a date. That’s right, you’ll be able to play as the hulking and explicit character of horror movie fame in the coming Mortal Kombat game. Presumably stacked with a much stronger move set than walking forward slowly and swinging his right arm, Jason will be at the creative disposal of the NetherRealm team ahead of launch and it should be interesting to see what’s in store with the new character.

Along side Jason, Kenshi and Shinnok are making their way back to the series. Starting on the April 14th release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, those who purchase the all-new Kombat Pack will receive the Samurai Pack as a bonus. This pack contains three samurai skins for characters – Ronin Kenshi, Samurai Shinnok and Jingu Kitana. Kombat Pack owners will also receive a short-term exclusivity to Kombat DLC ahead of the packs’ individual releases.

This DLC is expected to be available on Xbox 360 and PS4, however as the title has been delayed don’t look forward to picking up the Kombat Pack until you can get the game itself.
